Thanks for sharing! Their bass lines are much more impressive and difficult than I imagined. They might even be fun to play (too difficult for me currently, some of them even seem more difficult than Billy Jean). I wish someday I will be able to play as well as she does in the video, but I’m nowhere even close to that.

My good friend on this forum @John_E got me onto the excellent Brownstone YT channel ages ago. I love it, he’s superb.
I click on the latest video to find his voice has been replaced my some AI? generated voice over. You can get round it by changing the setting to French but seriously YouTube WTAF?

That’s actually a “feature”. There are a couple of German YT channels I follow that have auto-generated dubbing, a couple in a bunch of different languages (maybe a content creator option?). I have to go into the video’s settings and switch back to the original audio track. This is an improvement over the older auto-generated subtitles, which were often wildly incorrect. I’m OK with it as long as the original audio track is available, unlike Prime Video here in France where many films are dubbed into French with no subtitles and no access to the original language. Try watching a Mandarin or Cantonese film, dubbed poorly into French with no French subtitles. I try, but I have to abandon most of them.
Holy crap! I just started the video. It came up dubbed. I switched to the “original French” audio and got the original English audio. Now, I agree with you. WTF, YT!
BTW, I’ve been subscribed to his channel for awhile. Good content, well presented.

One of my bass teachers (yeah, I had a few over the years) used to say “when I grow up, I want to be Rich Brown”. He is highly regarded among the pros also!

He’s simply the bomb. I still do one of this exercises as a warmup every day. I gotta go back and watch him more at some point. I’m just too distracted by bass sax, and banjo, and soon to be guitar - I know I know.

I didn’t have that on the radar until I came across that video from Julia Hofer which @Barney posted, and I was blown away by the beauty of these ABBA bass lines. I never noticed that back in the days when they were really popular. But at the moment, that’s all way too complicated for me too.

Yes, they remind me of a song in one of the modules from the BtoB course, which was a fast tempo disco bass line. I couldn’t keep up with it in the fast workout.
Someday I will try to learn those ABBA riffs from Julia’s video. But that will be months from now. They are cool and interesting bass lines, but too difficult for me at the moment.
