My Duesenberg was PLEKed at the factory. The smoothness vs my MIA Fender or custom Birdsong is amazing. Big fan.

I can attest that lunch at @Al1885’s restaurant is indeed rad. Delicious!

Thanks @david.addis. We try very hard 6 days a week, :joy:

That 7th day though… pure silliness.

It actually started some years ago with the SMC noiseless pickups developed for them by Bill Lawrence. They’ve moved beyond those now. I believe the reality is that as they have been improved noiseless pickups have gained in popularity.

I’ve got my Geddy on my lap and love it. Maple boards are my favorite for sure.
Plek may not make much of a difference as the bass building tech of today is very good no matter where any decent bass is made. Woodworking is not rocket science.
And a Geddy no matter where its made is more than likely a very good quality instrument.
If you flek your Geddy or change the pickups I hope you will give everyone a full updated report.
On that note I will now go play some RUSH…

Oh sure. But my Geddy Lee is a 2016 model that’s sat around untouched, un-setup, un-played for 8 years. There’s no telling what sort of storage or climate changes it’s been through in that time, and I can 100% confirm that there are some fret issues down towards the heel of the neck.

So yeah, I’ll let a pro look at it, and if they think a fret dressing will fix it, awesome. If they think it needs a PLEKing, that’s awesome too.

I look forward to your future updates.
Its easy to hear a fret that is to high.
Plek it and tell us all how it comes out.
What’s a full pleking workover cost?

Last time I paid $200 for Plek which includes setup at 13th st.

I didn’t know the cost, thx.
Cheap enough, next time I need a setup Plek it will be.

13th street? Where is the world is that?

If you are in SoCal that’s the place to go, it’s worth a drive. I probably go there a dozen times or more.

Ill likely go elsewhere, Huntington Beach, CA is over 1000 miles from me.
The drive would cost way more than the pleking…
