so I’ve been playing bass since a year and I always thought that it’s kind of hard pressing the strings down on the higher frets but I never thought about it much, thicker strings, so it has to be normal I guessed.. I just recently bought this card and it shows 3mm, I don’t play any metal/hardcore or anything heavy, just 60s Rock’n’Roll so I don’t think I need this height but honestly I’m not sure:downcast_face_with_sweat:
should I go to a music shop to get it adjusted? I’m just really worried to interact with strangers to be honest

That’s on the high side. Check this out so you can learn how to adjust that.

It’s really personal preference. Low action makes it easier to play, but higher action gives you more dynamic range. For playing with a pick, I personally prefer higher action.
If that bothers you, it might be worth getting a setup anyway.

The upside to having action that high is that you definitely build finger strength.

Hhhmmmm, this is what you get when you use GPS to set string height…

Within 3’ is close enough I’d say.

I set mine at 0.030 (30 thousandths) of an inch with a feeler guage. Look for the Elixir strings set up vids on youtube. One of them shows you how to do this.
