Exactly where I’m at. I’ve gotten as far as recording video / audio and you can see on my face exactly where I mess up a note and the rest of it is poo. Confidence gets shaken and mistakes start to cascade, I’m just not there yet. I’m trying though.
I just wait for your cover @faydout . And the one of @BozzerWolf, with his new fancy bass ^^
You’ll find people really supportive.
Won’t happen soon. My timing sucks, must be the german part of my DNA…
Can’t you play music where you could march to???! Germans love to march!
PS I have the same issue with timing, though us dutch are known to have a very rhythmic feeling ^^
Is… that the Dutch version of the Ententanz?
I am deeply ashamed to say: that’s the ORIGINAL!
You know, Holland is the best country in the world, ok was the best country in the world, no, would have been the best country in the world, if it were located in the French Provence.
But the “Vogeltjesdans” (= “Ententanz”) ruined it for me. One more reason I left Holland (ok, except for the alternative fact that I was thrown out, but that’s another story).
Well, at least we don’t have March Music, like @BozzerWolf
EDIT Just googled it. It’s from Switzerland, thank the Flying Spaghetti Monster! You made Holland great again, @faydout! This was really a childhood trauma until now…
It’s difficult for everyone especially me. I can play most songs in front of audiences and practice, put a damn camera in front of me I keep hitting wrongs notes and misfrets. Well the monitor is sitting in front of me every time I look I f%#k up,
I usually don’t look at my hands so I look forward when I see camera I don’t know where else to look. But I want to keep records of how I’m doing so I do it.
I’d be looking at that blue Squier P bass. The color of the body and pick guard is gorgeous.

Lol! @Al1885 , if I could play only 1% as good as you, I would be jumping nude in front of the camera - no matter how cold it is - while playing
Well, maybe not nude at BassBuzzz as there are many Americans here, but definitely on a Dutch site ^^
@faydout: I get my new bass on Monday. I hope I will have the same pleasure as you, looking at my bass!
Well, good eyes. It’s also the cheapest instrument in this room. I guess that’s the point right. It stands out and looking gorgeous. Sounds awesome to stock. As is put a Fender Spaghetti Logo on the headstock and charge a $1000 more it’d still sell like hot cakes.

I’m not that much better than the average player but I have a much higher willingness to humiliate myself to entertain others,
Playing nude? Like Flea at Woodstock? Man you can’t unseen that,
So tonight I started jamming to a new song and it clicked. Like really, really clicked. I just spent the last 4 hours getting it down, figuring out the parts during the guitar solo, then I started having fun with it and improvising while staying in the pocket. There was some serious bass face going. Honestly, this was the most just pure joy I’ve had since I started playing.
It won’t be 100% faithful to the original (the original recording has a bunch of ghost notes… I kinda think the bass player winged it a bit in the studio), but I’ll have it recorded this weekend.

It’s also the cheapest instrument in this room.
I have the white/gold anniversary Squier and made the same experience. Everybody is like this must be the most expensive one.
I was deciding between the two and go back and forth several times. Blue and gold is definitely stands out but the satin finish on the white is exceptional. It feels to awesome. I have that same finished on my American Performer Mustang in surf green I just love it.

but it is quite hard to post a cover, when everybody is so great (or funny). I feel a lot of pressure…
Firstly, I have seen your posts. I think you are great and you look so relaxed and natural and confident. I enjoy them.
Secondly, there will always be someone better than you. It has been said, Don’t compare yourself to others today, compare yourself to who you were yesterday.
Yeah, I use a “natural and confident” video filter that magically hides my panic and terror state
It’s much better now, after having posted a few covers.
I accepted that I don’t need to look at the camera, dance around or try to be a rock’n roll star. I just sit down, play the d@mn thing, post it and cry silently in a dark corner
