Fingers crossed I may have just sold the Ibanez . The guy has asked me to hold it until next Thursday when he gets paid.

I have this periodic inner conversation with myself about this topic quite regularly. (I have 1 main jazz, 3 other jazzes, a P bass and a double bass)
“Hmm, maybe I should cut back on the basses. But which ones?”
“Well, you can’t get rid of the main jazz, fair enough”
“And I obviously need a backup, so I should keep the fender performer”
“That means I can get rid of either the fretless jazz or the vintera jazz”.
(there’s a pause at this point)
“Hang on though, the vintera is really nice and it’s based on the vintage pickups. And you know how good it sounds”
“Ok, well, maybe I’ll use that as a backup”
“Yeah, but the performer is really slick to play”
“Ok, what about the vintera P bass then?”
“Well, it’s also based on the vintage pickups, and it’s sooooo gorgeous, and I’ve only got 1 p bass”
“Ok, the fretless?”
“Yeah, but it was only £200, so It’s not really going to help much, plus apart from the double bass, it’s the only fretless that I can pick up immediately and get going, whereas the double bass needs proper attention to get going”
“Ok, well what about the bloody double bass then if it’s such a faff?”
“Yeah, but the NOISE”
“OK, OK FORGET IT”
Then I generally go to the pub and have a pint of beer and forget the whole bloody thing!

Is that where the strings you sent me came from?
Yeah, they came stock with the Fender Steve Harris P. Have you tried them yet?
Not yet. Im still in the painting, staining and sanding stage

My old Ibanez SR is on its way to a new home for a bargain price ( unfortunately) but it is what it is

I sold one of my streams. Still have two left. Difficult decision, but I’m not playing it. And my Ampeg Rocket Bass 50w amp. Decided to keep the Rumble 100.
Tomorrow I am hoping to sell one of my Charvels and will sell my Orange Crush 25. Will be down to 1 amp - what is this world coming to? Dogs and cats living together!
I would trade up for an Orange Crush 100 if they didn’t weigh as much as an elephant.

I’ll necro this thread because my cull is about to begin. I am selling off almost all my basses. EHB1000, EHB1005, Mustang Vintera, Player Mustang (in shell pink), Pawn Shop Mustang, Sterling Short Scale, my custom walnut 51 P, Joe Dart III. I will add them to the SAG thread, but not at once so if anyone wants anything just say so. I have others too.

Everything is fine. I’m still going to have 8ish basses when all is said and done. A Lakland which I will soon have, Sandberg, an Eastwood Sandman, an Ibanez 1005SMS, my purple Offbeat, my Custom Wombat, my left handed Sadowsky jazz (which I play badly but is good exercise for dexterity). And some others not mentioned, like a Squier CV 60s P, ESP B206, Squier Bass VI in Purple (try and find one of them), Shell Pink Rascal (also rare)
Bottom line, tooooo many basses and the HB30 was the straw
