Any suggestions for easy Christmas riffs?

Anybody git anything a newbie can impress the family with, around the Christmas tree?

That looks do-able. Thank you.

Nobody apart from fellow bassists are impressed by bass

There’s a great easy way to play silent night on solo bass.
It’s the only thing I know that’s somewhat satisfying and recognizable to the savages out there.

If you all ask realllllly nicely and send me your local home-brew eggnog, I just might post it here as a Christmas gift for my favorite forum folk.

if the nog is worthy.

Just kidding.
Just had to stall while I tabbed it out.
Here it is!

The thing that makes it special is that you play the appropriate open string on the first beat of each bar and let it ring while you pluck the melody!

Makes it a solo-bass arrangement.

(first file just has the melody - which you gotta learn first. second file shows the open strings too)

The only trick is in bars 19 and 20 where it goes from F#m to A.

For that part, I play the low notes on the E string:

F#m = 14th fret E string
A = 17th fret E string

Hope this helps bring joy and cheer to one and all.

Still send nog.

Best I can do is give you my recipe. I’d go with 6oz rum and throw the eggnog container in the trash.

It’s not big here, we have Bailey’s which is cream and Irish whiskey, popular this time of year.
