Can you tell me about Hal Leonardās Bass Method?
2nd pass - achieved - quietly surprised with my progress but certainly think I got the value out of the course that I was hoping for. My next focus will be on learning songs. Since I am not interested in a ācoverā or tribute band, I will be learning songs I like for the most part. I am having conversations with a band member but it hasnāt materialized yet. They are still looking for a drummer. But in the meantime I was able to make more progress with my studies so its all good and I am not in a hurry. I am grateful not just for the course but also for the extensive forum participation that helps to motivate. I find that seeing the success on the forum helped me indeed to reach some success myself. Itās kind of a full circle scenario. Thank you and keep trying.

Started on the 30th of April not knowing much about a Bass, finished module 15 tonight, so ust 3 months later. What a delight. Wonderful progression and methodology, learned more about music theory and opened a whole lot of doors in my music perspectives.
I did pass quite a few hard and technical pro certifications these last few years, but itās even more heartwarming to have passed this course. Really have been a pleasure, iām actually a little sad and sentimental for it to be over, even if iāll obviously go on with the masterclasses and suggested courses.
Iāve had a wonderful time and so glad to be able to make some music by myself !

Done! I started on July 25th and today is August 24th so . . . 31 days. It wasnāt a race, but I am retired so I could put in a bit of effort every day.
I will be running the two post-course checklists, revisiting a few bookmarked workouts I had trouble with (if not already included therein), then heading to the Masterclass Module.
And - of course - I will add my feedback to the appropriate thread. This was a FANTASTIC way to learn this instrument . . . something I have wanted to do for four decades.
One question: does @JoshFossgreen include playing in different tunings in the Master Class?

Even a a one-off lesson in the Masterclasses would be good. I struggle to wrap my brain around shifting around the fretboard with both alternate/drop tunings and using a capo.

I played my way through both āquizā checklists yesterday and today - I need to go back to master a few things (some of which I had already bookmarked):
- Billie Jean (I relearned it and just need to polish it at full tempo)
- Module 12 Lesson 2 Slow and Full (the disco octaves lesson). Still not in my wheelhouse, but getting there.
- Papaās Got A Brand New Bag. It will be a while before I can play that well at full tempo.
- Red Clay at full tempo.
- Boogie Oogie Oogie (needs polishing at full tempo).
I am curious how many others had trouble in the same spots?
I will pick these one at a time and work them into a daily practice routine. I plan to start 30 days of Joshās 3 x exercises from this YT video and add repetitive reinforcement of things from the course using the printouts from the extras. And songs . . . going back to some stuff I used to play and learning more songs with tabs.
I think I will hold off on Master Class lessons for a week or four.

Finally done! I took the extra-slow track from mid-January to September 1st, but it can be done even with toddlers and full time employment 
Canāt wait to get started on my second pass. Iāve already been able to hold my own playing with friends and family. And my 5 year old has started practicing her plucking technique. One day weāll be jamming together Iām sure.
Side note: Iād buy those badges as buttons in a heartbeat.
