Don’t know it - @JoshFossgreen have you ever played on these? I’ve never plugged in to one.
Nope, very limited Ashdown experience. My first thought is, I wonder how much it weighs? No weight info on the Sweetwater page and couldn’t find on their website.
What are you planning on using it for, @bsickels?
Planning on using it for gigs. Weight is 35.5 lbs.
Whoa, really? I find 35.5lb hard to believe for a 2x10" combo. My TC Electronic RS210 cab is 46lbs alone and that’s pretty lightweight, as far as I know. If it’s really 35.5lbs, that’s an amazing selling point, and you’d think they would promote it!
I found a more accurate weight on the Musician’s Friend website. Weight: 39.68 lb. (18kg). Still not bad. Musician’s Friend is selling the 8ohm version. The one on the Sweetwater site is 4ohms. I have often wondered how companies can sell amps rated at 500watts with 8 ohm impedance without making it clear to the buyer that they will need to add an additional cabinet to get the 500 watt output. The Ashdown I am looking at is 500 watts, 4 ohm impedance. It also has built in compression and effects loop. Another note: my wife says that if it breaks any windows, I will be moving into the shed. Any thoughts on converting a shed into a music studio? LOL
Wow. That still blows my mind. The TC Electronic 2x10 is 46lb, and the Aguilar SL 2x12 is 45lb, so I don’t know how Ashdown is pulling that off!
Ha! Dual or single pane?
@Gio Whatever happened? Did your problem(s) get resolved?
All best and good luck, Joe
Thanks for the concern @Jazzbass19! Yes and no.
The demon scream is gone. Huzzah!
It’s a usable amp… but it hasn’t acted in a 100% fixed way yet, so I’m still nervous to take it on a gig.
It has loud noise artifacts still - the repair man said it was totally silent for him, and suggested the power at my home may be dirty… So.
I’m waiting for chances to take it to places where I can test it, and have a backup amp ready in case it is still possessed.
… This rarely happens, as I almost never can bring 2 amps to a place, because of time/space constraints.
Thus the saga continues.
The use of MDF maybe?
