Whoa, a double humbucker fender? Easily their most versatile bass if they did it right. Like a J-bass but with a way better choice of pickups (IMO of course).
I love their double-buck guitars.

Between the “Roscoe” and the “Rascal” I posted a few days ago, man o man these are cool!
I like the blue with the matching headstock in this vid, goes well with the Rascal…
That would be a seriously cool pair of basses to own…
Uh oh… GAS rears its ugly head once more
I am getting to love double bucks more than I did, the Streams no doubt a big influence. I have come to appreciate how versatile the shape of the pickup is. You can buy any kind of pickup you want in that shape - P, Jazz, anything. You can wire it up to change it from a split coil to a jazz at the flick of a switch. Sky’s the limit
No sir!
Not this year at least…hahaha.
It’s by far my favorite pickup configuration, bass or guitar. I love the tone and the versatility. Very flexible.
Are they Gibson’s?
@papkerry These are Guild Starfire II.
More or less, yeah, except it’s nicer too
I tried to bond with several G&Ls at Sweetwater but they just aren’t for me.
Mine was a present and it took me quite a while until I put flatwounds on it. You tried…
I have no rational reason for lusting after this bass, but:
Behold the Greco BGWB22 Jazz bass from Japan. (Runs about $1200 USD.)
Rina from Tokyo Groove Joshi occasionally plays one — along with a mysterious p-bass marked only with a stylized “B” - any guesses as to brand? I’ll screen shot it sometime as need be.
I got the message tho, that rather than dink around with cheap basses from Amazon, maybe save up and get a good one that doesn’t need modding etc out of the gate. (Cough, Glarry, cough.)
I’m sure my Sire V3 is Just Fine but… it’s the thrill of the hunt, I suppose. In any event, it’s a fiiiiine looking bass.
Might be a Bacchus? Though they usually spell out “Bacchus.”
There’s a lot of small boutique makers here so it might be hard to tell.
Also, hadn’t heard that Rina replaced Juna Serita. Interesting.
Juna graduated last August; they had an online concert with sets with both bass players; Kinda sad, I hate graduations.
It’s the single worst thing about bands here. Especially the idol bands, where it definitely has a creepy Logan’s Run like feeling to it.
I am waiting for my new bass to be built.
My brotha said I need a good amp to learn with and he sent me this and is building this Bass. I picked the colour
Black Cloud?
