Is the outcome decided - it’s just a matter of timing now? Or is nothing truly definite yet?

No,
But I have an arraignment on Friday at 8:30am.

My sentencing is on Nov. 14.

The hope is that, I will get a dismissal on Friday in county court, come home, and go back to Federal court for the sentencing on the 14th, but remain out on bond thru the holidays, and then self surrender in January.
That is if I get sentenced to serve time which is way more likely then not.
I will be lucky to get 5 years, but reality is between 5 and 10 years, with a probability in the middle around 7.5 years.
Or so I am told.

There is a possibility that I could be taken into custody on Friday, and go to county jail til the 14th and be transported to Federal court.

If that happens, it is unlikely that I would be out on bond thru the holidays

If I get the dismissal on Friday and come home, I still could get taken into custody on the 24th after my sentencing.

So, I have between 3days and 3 months before I have to go inside, if I get sentenced more then Supervised release for 3 years, and / or home arrest, which is still possible, but it is so unlikely that I don’t have my hopes up for that at all.

In fact I am really hoping for anything less then or equal to 7.5 years. Which would end up around 5 years time served.
A 5 year sentence would be a blessing, and actually be around 2.5 to 3 years time served.

Of course there will be a 3 year supervised release (probation)at the end of any time served, but that’s ok by me, it’s pretty much the same thing as the pre trial probation I have been on since April 10th of 2021, after my arrest.

Since I don’t drink or do drugs, or have guns ( that I would have to give up) probation doesn’t cramp my style too much.
Having to get permission to travel outside my district (which is pretty big) is a minor thing, and the biggest thing is not being able to vote, but otherwise, it’s just normal life to me.

Gotta say, you’re really facing this well. Hang in there. You might still get lucky.

What else can I do?
I mean when I was first charged and was facing a 20 year mandatory minimum, I figured I would stay out on bond for a year, then do a fentanyl overdose.
That was the plan B for sure.

But then I didn’t want to be the cliche, and I thought about what it would do to my daughter’s, and parents.
It’s not Ideal to only see them in a prison visiting room for a number of years, but it’s better then them only being able to visit me at my grave, leaving so many things unresolved.
Plus, I know my oldest will marry within a couple years, and I am sure I will get grand kids, which I will meet as a free man some day.

So, that is not only NOT plan B, it is not an option at all.

So one can only hope for the possibility of leniency come sentencing. I am just mentally preparing for the worst, which is a likely possibility.
One can hope.

No shame there, man. If I were staring down 20 that would literally be my first thought too. And I’m really glad you didn’t take that path, for the reasons you mentioned and more.

I am glad to hear that… I mean, I can understand your thoughts to a certain extent, but taking that way out is always only a completely selfish act (and of course it is). Thinking about those left behind gives you back some of the humanity you have lost when you are driven that far out.

That’s huge, man! I will never have grandkids, so there’s that

Glad to hear it, @T_dub. Please know that taking your own life like that is never a solution. It only creates new problems for the ones you leave behind. Believe me, it is impossible to overstate the effects this would have on their lives. Stay positive, my friend. Things may not be as bad as you think they will be

It’s a standard Kiesel SCP split-coil, which are black, in the standard p-bass position. In that picture, it blends perfectly into the pickguard. There were other full-length pictures of it at different angles where the pickup was visible. It’s just the picture.
