Off topic, my daughter took 1st place in her Judo tournament today, white belt beating a Yellow and Blue belt. Yeah! Proud Poppy here bragging. I’ll be entering in more tournaments for sure. 4 of her friends in the club are in Texas competing in the President cup. If things are tracking we’ll be in Texas a few times next year. So Heads up.

My 6 yr old boy is in a judo club as well… Unfortunately he doesn’t have a competitive bone… And also he is not used to the concept of doing something, because you have to instead of because you want to…
That means he is the little rascal always sitting at the side and joking around 
Hope that changes when he gets into school next summer.

This is her first tournament, technically 2nd, her first one was the club tournament and that one she came in last, the first match was about 10 seconds long. Then longer and longer. I love that she got pissed and really motivated her. We’ll see what it’d take her. I’ll support her as much as she needs it.

Lol, may be another 2 years or so although I do practice penjak Silat and eskrima so I can probably slow her down a bit. My sister was a National Judo who competed at SEA Game a when she was younger.
