That is one sweet looking little bass.

That sounds strangely wrong :joy:

What I like on this one is that the control plate is black and not square-shaped. I’ve always found that the usual white/perloid one looks very raw and unfinished. Possibly a real reason why I never bought an Hofner, actually.

I’ve never been a fan of their looks much at all, in general, but they sound really great. Like really surprisingly good for such a small instrument.

You just know the owner has a Beatles haircut :grinning:

Yeah - I love hofners but they are definitely let down by the control plate. I guess they’re reluctant to update the model in case they lose the traditional Beatles feel…

I like this blue as well. Funnily enough, I was looking at fretted EHB1000 or EHB1500 recently.

I saw this in person a few weeks ago & love the garish colours. My only problem is the gold hardware - should all be black, for max contrast.

Yes, Black hardware would much better looking IMO

Need to do something about that control plate, black would be much better but ideally just replace it with a full pickguard. That’s true of all J’s though.

Here’s an aluminum lefty 12-string. Every home should have one.

Meh, not spendy enough for me.

I don’t often go lefty, but when I do I make mine ‘spensive AF.

that’s a lot of pickups and switches

I saw this on Reverb last night! Yet more proof that lefty basses are almost always bottom of the barrel or up in the stratosphere. :upside_down_face:

It’s a sinister plot. :smirk:

I feel like it makes me go crosseyed.
@matt.g.ward.esq - ever see one of these?

Is that… two split-coil pickups installed to function like one? So, like, one full split-coil for the top of a normal split-coil, and one full split-coil for the bottom of a normal split-coil?

Someone posted a “WHY” picture in response to the Parker in the ugly duckling thread. I think it applies here more.
