Not just a sock! It’s a whole pair! Super comfy and I wear them regularly. I am a proud owner of a Mononeon signature 5 string. A lot of people don’t like the color, but that’s literally what I fell in love with about it!

The colors are fantastic! Except the control plate anyway

Love these. Unfortunately at my age i would definitely not be able to pull that off.
It would look like a Mid life crisis bass.

Their custom shop is dangerous.

Well, technically I am at that “midlife crisis” age, as I am in my 40s! However, loud and bright yellow has ALWAYS been my jam, so most people were unsure what took me so long to get something on this level.

I actually have added some color to it! My wife made this little boondoggle type thing with some rainbow cord she found at the store!

Finishing touch. Brilliant.

40’s are way behind me. I will be 56 this month.
I would have totally rocked that in my 40’s

…and being a Gibson, it has an easily visible manufacturing defect

Unless the thing has been refinished (which, let’s face it, for a Gibson headstock is not the least likely thing), those discolorations look original to me.

Interesting instrument though. That neck pickup is probably single coil? They didn’t invent the humbucker until 1955. Neat unique instrument.

It is a single coil. You can make out the poles at the bottom of the pickup.

That’s not definitive; plenty of humbuckers with single poles exposed like that. The original PAF, for example.

You see this all the time in guitars. For example, my Revstar:

But since the PAF wasn’t invented until the following year, pretty sure it is single coil, yeah.

I was watching a video of a guy who owns a 53, and he was going through the history of the design, like Les Paul claims credit for it, and he said the pup is single coil. So I’ll go with that
