You’re welcome.
Yes. I have a Midwestern 2. Look up my posts in the “Post your Covers!” thread, and you’ll find a video of me playing ‘I Want to Break Free’ (Queen) with it. Posted about 2-3 weeks ago.
Ordering and shipping (to Hong Kong) went without a hitch. I made initial contact via their FB page, but then Jake takes over and it’s all very professional.
I should have searched the forums before asking. Great tone in that video. Thank you for the response.
Thanks. No worries… and keep on asking. It’s a maze in here. (Plus, I never used the word “Serek” in my video post, so you might not have found it on a search anyway!)
Beautiful bass indeed
I’d prefer it in red though.
The German accent seems to be very strong in the guy presenting the bass
Haha, well, yes, that’s Gregor and that is almost his trademark by now
I seem to have the same pickups on my Evil Twin. They give a lot of sound options I haven’t fully explored yet
The way he shows that thing off, it looks REALLY light weight.
He doesn’t look like a small guy
What @Krescht says, and I suspect that it is indeed unusually lightweight. I have a Cort Action, which has the same body shape (equally thin too) which is something like 3.6 kg.
It’s hard to bear.
Or maybe it’s harder for me because I shame-cringe for my fellow German. It’s like he tries to fit in the German accent as hard as he can.
But it’s a really nice bass.
Looked up the price immediately. That usually means I like it
I think he is great @Krescht so enthusiastic and positive he also explains things in a nice way. One problem is that he causes gas

I suppose I need to weigh my Squier, but I know I can’t fling it around like that guy was-- as if it were a toy.
I’ll have to take your word for it. I must admit my German instructors (two natives of Germany and one an Austrian) didn’t have much accent at all, except for one. One had a decidedly British accent because he learned his English in London.
I had a friend, an American who could converse in German pretty well. He ended up working in France for 5 years, and had an occasion to do business in Germany. While there he proceeded to speak German, but after a few minutes the Germans asked him to please speak English. “Is there something wrong with my German?” “No, your German is fine, but you speak your German with a French accent!”
It’s fascinates me!
“Zis is a German moderzykle. It doez not need oil.”
Gregor’s accent is perfect for the videos he makes
Really nice sound for a bass ukulele.
And for a change something relatively affordable in this thread!
Just checked and this thing is top seller in Thomann shop.
The Wanderer version (no F-holes) is on place 3 and this is followed by the black Journeyman version.
So 3 out of the Top 5 sellers in bass ukuleles are Kala Ukuleles.
They also got really good reviews.
