That’s the same weight as the bass I bought secondhand for 2% of that price. And I got three more frets for the money.

Well, It’s Orange, so it’s porn in my eyes.

This is my recent porn. I am tempted to sell all my Basses, and amps if needed to get it, it is that incredible.
It helps that I have found my go to bass. Of all Basses I have and have had, there is one that I now have to call my flat out favorite. If I was told I could keep only one bass, I know which one I will be keeping.
I have or have had
Ibanez - SR300-SR400QM-GSR200-GSR25M
ESP LTD - B-4E / B-155/ Araya FRX
Dean - Metalman
Schecter - Elite-5
Squire - Vintage modified jaguar
Sterling - Stingray 4
Spector - performer 4 DLX
I think that’s it.

Anyway, here is my porn. First the one that would require me selling all I have to buy it at $2600. Then the one I might actually get, and replace the clear pickguard with orange one.

This should give you a hint to what my favorite bass is. I play 5 regularly, but I play one all day everyday.

Look at that Fretboard. I am in love. That is a real MM Stingray.

This below is a Sterling Stingray 34. The top tier for Sterling. I like the black on wood grain. I like the clear pickguard concept, but without the pickguard, it doesn’t look Stingray enuf for me. Easy fix tho

I am officially a Stingray guy.
I think it has something to do with the way I use my thumb now, or don’t use it.
I used to want that super slim thin neck, I thought it made me play better, but I am learning the stingray neck is much more to my liking. It’s not huge by any means, it’s fuller then my Ibanez SR’s and a little more then my ESP B-4E (my number 2), but it really is more suited to mu hand I have found. Plus they are just bad ass iconic Basses.
I will own a MM one day, hopefully that beauty up there, but for now, a Stingray 34 will be good.

Overall yes. I like other designs of this bass better like this one:

I am noticing the pattern that I like to see the wood clearly

If it has racing stripes, it should be red :joy:
It’s absolutely beautiful as well

That orange Stingray is gorgeous, and really iconic.
What’s the fretboard made of, looks very orange too?

I didn’t even look, I was too busy cleaning up drool from the floor. Let me check.

It’s Maple,

I found another, it’s the same, but similar. The fretboard is the same design, but you can’t see it in this photo.
Black pick guard, and orange see thru wood grain. Black hardware. Equally as awesome.
I think my preference would be to get the first one, with the chrome hardware, but put a black pickguard on it.

First I have to pony up $2600, which is highly unlikely.

I’ve never looked at the MM basses before but that one gives me a very severe case of GAS !

They have a pretty distinctive sound so you might want to hear one. Personally I think they sound killer.

@T_dub they are awesome. Although I’ve just bought a J bass (so I’m officially suffering from MBD now), my ultimate ambition is still to have Stringray (and be able to do it justice).

@howard I agree they do sound killer
