Cool, Eastwood is an interesting company.
devo thinks so
Hehe, they make stuff like that occasionally because… they can
“Can” and “should” are two distinctly different things.
Mayones does creative patchwork-y designs on some of their Calis simply because they make them from pieces left over from their full-scale bass builds. This Sandberg is something else entirely. But whatevs. If they have the time to do it, it is what it is.
I don’t know about the tone of that bottom one, but it sure looks like it would at least taste sweet.
This was one of the in-process Calis they sent me photos to choose from.
Here are the two I bought. Custom strings. The 4-string set was already available from their online store, but the 5-string set wasn’t. They were willing to package a spare 5-string set to go with the spare 4-string set I ordered at the same time as the basses. The Cali 4 is gorgeous. I like the Cali 5, but my first choice was sold the evening I received the photos, before I got back to them the next day. So that Cali 5 was my second choice.
Really digging that one. Super clean layout and that top is beautiful.
Jerry Barnes / Bernard Edwards sort of mixed together…
My wife would be hunting you down if she could see how lustfully I’m looking at this one. SUPER COOL!. I’d like it more with a dark gray fingerboard where you can see the grain but it’s almost black.
This fretboard is made of Pale Moon Ebony. It is a premium wood — a true upgrade wood with an equally upgrade price — and it is perfect in its natural colors, as in this beautiful bass design.
