Yeah, I agree! It’s a beauty, even if has one too many strings for me.

Very nice. Simple and elegant… and no extra string.

Exactly. This a beautiful EBMM that’s been customized to a whole new level. Converted to fretless and with an added piezo pup in the bridge. I’m sure it’s beyond wonderful.

And not having an extraneous string is a pure plus.

Are piezo pups basically the same things that they use for E-drum triggers? What’s the sound like? I’m destroying (modding) a bronco bass and I have that part and a desire to experiment…

Piezo pickups have a transducer that converts the physical vibrations of a guitar’s strings into electrical signals.

Unlike magnetic pickups, piezo pups have piezoelectric crystals or ceramic elements that detect vibrations.

When strings vibrate, they create pressure waves that are picked up by the piezo crystal, which then converts those waves into an electrical signal that are sent to an amp or PA system.

On an electric bass, piezo pups are used to emulate the tone of an upright acoustic bass.

There was no detailed description of everything done to this bad boy, but I believe it used to be an EBMM StingRay. It obviously has been customized pretty radically.

It’s now a fretless with an added piezo pup. It seems to have a preamp installed (so maybe it’s a Special?). It also now has a pup selector switch. The body top wood looks to be custom, as does the transparent red finish on the body and matching headstock.

Might be closing in on an offer. I’m $10 away from the highest I am willing to go. We’ll see.

The key is not caring if it gets away, another will be along. Just gotta have fun with it

…and it got away. He converted it to an auction at a price higher than I am willing to pay. Oh well, another will be along

A paisley musicmaster, with a lot of switches for a single coil.

Yeah seems styled after a Musicmaster. It’s made by Xotic. No idea for why all the switches.
