Yeah, but the pandemic is really starting to affect people i think.
I have made out good, and made profit off buying low and selling high, or buying a package deal, keeping the bass, and getting it for free or $50 after selling the amp and cab etc…
The first deal that I actually made a good amount off in the end, I bought right when the lockdown started and was expected to be about 2 weeks long, last early April or late march when I bought, and I have been fortunate to score a few deals that helped fund my keepers, or offset the cost pretty significantly.
and back in June, or July I bought a beautiful, extremely good quality and condition SBMM Ray34 the honey roasted burst from around 2010-2013.
It had been sitting in a pawn shop for almost a year, and the price started at $900, then dropped to $800, and by the time I was looking for one and found it, it was marked down to $650, and I walked in with $400 cash and walked out with it.
it is beautiful, but I am actually going to sell it, for a profit, and it will almost pay for the Slo Special I got, cuz I paid $950 for it. It was listed for 2 months and started at $1200. When I learned about the neck, and knew I wanted it more then the Sterling Ray34, I bought it, with plans to get the money back by selling the Ray323, which I am listing today or tomorrow. I don’t expect it to go right away, like the pattern, but I expect to sell it because it is hard to find one idendical, compared to all the black and black on black ones and natural ash and white ones, this one I have with matching headstock, it is special enough that it was a score, and will be taken by somebody for $900 at some point in time. I am gonna list it higher, but I would take $900
So yeah, the prices are super low for Seattle, and for here even, but I think it is the state of the world dictating it, and there are too many people willing to let too many cool toys go cuz they need money, that I bet if you looked hard enough, you would find some gem deals like this
Pics don’t do it justice, but here are some of my Ray34. It is cleaned up but cuz of the high gloss, it is hard to get the lighting right to get good photo’s with my iphone camera, so pics are hard to do it justice, but it is gorgeous, and I am not much a fan of burst finishes , but this one does it for me.
photo’s do not do justice to the headstock or the fretboard detail, or justice to the combo of the body with the fretboard and headstock, it was impossible to get any better light without getting sharp glare ing light and reflections anywhere on the body and headstock
and SUPER LOW ACTION, this is on the G string side, but still, it is super low
I will miss that one, and it is bad ass, but that shows my attachment to my Ray4 (yep, the $299 one with a $119 pick up upgrade) and my EBMM Slo Special. I am happy enough with them that i can let this one go,
and
the Stingray4 Natural.
and the Ray4HH
but I never cared much for it. It looks really cool with the olive color and maple fretboard, but , but I did not like playing it, so that on is not that hard to let go, but this one , won’t sting so much, because I don’t like playing it as much as my Ray 4 and SLO Special, so it is not gonna sting, its just a bummer I don’t have space and money enough to be able to keep it on the wall and look at it for life,
