one of my fave people on the planet when it comes to speakers and sound in general. really smart no bs type of guy.
Wine tatsing is the same. Half (more like 3/4!) of the snobbery is in the label.
Agreed. I have been scaling down my things this year and his book is the only audio engineering text I kept.
Not an Eppiphone guy per se but was in Sam Ash today for more stings and this headstock on a T-bird is just gorgeous!
Nice one T! How is the Peavey bass working out?
I wonder how much less sane it would have been if if they had used J pups or a humbucker?
This is supposed to be bass porn, not bass horror
It can be bass fun sometimes
It’s so beautiful and so purple…
Schecter Guitar Research Limited-Edition Stiletto Studio-4 Bass Transparent Purple Burst
I always did like the headstocks on those. Thunderbirds weigh in on the very heavy side, but they’re a good bass – especially for a Gibson/Epi product.
Speaking of which, I always get a ping when one of these show up on Reverb. There’s one now, but I realize Grabbers are also a subjective taste. This might not be porn for everyone, but the sliding pickup system at least makes them a solid novelty.
Gibson Grabber II 2009 Satin Ebony Master Built Bass Guitar + Case | Guitarsmith | Reverb
I have yet to meet a Gibson bass that I would buy, just me though.
Yeah, I’m absolutely a broken record here, but Epiphones just don’t do a lot for me in the pickup department. Gibsons are straight-up cost-prohibitive. Even with the good ones, the sad fact of the matter is, there’s usually a bass out there that does the same and more at their outrageous price point.
…maybe… but the lines on that black satin Grabber are just so dang cool!
I love the look of these basses.
Also - @terb - didn’t you pick one of these up recently?
How are you liking it?
I just popped a chubby
Nice streamer!
I went with the the tobacco burst but I wish I had the transparent red!
yeah, mine has a natural maple finish, kinda like the Fender butterscotch color scheme. this Grabber is hard to play (needs a better setup) and the body is very heavy so the thing has a body-dive problem, instead of the common neck-dive … otherwise I really like this beast, and it sounds really awesome to me.
