Forums make for bad “to do” lists, OP.

I’d recommend Microsoft To Do, or IOS Reminders. Something like that.

Welcome Kevin! Daily playing will sure help. Even if it’s something as simple as chugging on one string and learning how to perfect your meter skills.

Welcome to the forum, it’s a great place.

it is. but as you can see, we also joke around a lot here

And how.

It struck me after I made my smart-aleck reply above that over at SBL they encourage you to start a thread in a specific forum to act as a diary of sorts for your practices, a blog of what you’re working on and the like. That’s probably what @kevin0818 was going for.

nah I was confused also and it just struck me as funny. @kevin0818 no offense from any of us, man. you are more than welcome here!

Day 1

Song

You can’t hold my groove - Victor Wooten

I think it’s important to careful not to touch 2nd finger after tap 3rd fret on 2nd string when you pop open 1st string and strum open 1st string up and down.

Marcus Miller - power

Start on popping 7th fret of 1st,2nd,4th string and transition to slapping needs constant practice I think.

Primus - Tommy The Cat

Strumming Power chord 2 times and slap on semi muted fret is unique part I guess.

Victor Wooten - You can’t hold no groove

i think tapping with left hand and strumming with right hand requires lots of practice.

It would be great if you would post a video doing any of those songs, it could be inspirational for other forum members.
Most people here are newer and would likely appreciate seeing those songs.

Herbie Hancock - Chameleon is not a tough one compared to the others, and if you have effects on your amp it can be even more fun to play.
I’ll need to bank a fair few more hours until I can make the other songs sound recognizable.

You may be right. I think this song is good because I can practice this in everywhere.

Chameleon Is not in the same classroom as the others. I like Herbie and I’ll be on a Herbie kick for awhile now, thanks for that…
If you like that you may dig Tony Levin, Tony with Peter Gabriel may be something you might like.
Check out Steam and Big time, they are similar level perhaps a bit harder but doable… :sunglasses:

Oh yeah, this is a great place with tons of help and humor.

Lipps,Inc - Funky Town

Very good song to practice slapping and popping.

Its a nice riff.
Songster says its fingers but I just slapped it and its got some major potential as a slap riff. Its now on my slapper practice list. :jbass: :sunglasses:
