Oh I don’t know about that!
Now that’s a dingwall of hammer.
I’ve got 3 of them @Al1885
Bongo Hammer™
Now that is gorgeous.
See that’s why people don’t buy hammers for their looks, because we’ve forgotten the ways of our forefathers and sacrificed beauty for functionality and uniformity in the name of progress and mass production.
That’s if you are a worthy one ,
You got the money, honey, they bring the hammer.
It’s hammer time
I have always pushed back hard against the idea that the fender shape is the only “acceptable” shape for a bass and the further you stray from it the more people complain. but I love how basses look, they’re long and mean and badass.
but whales are fugly
Not sure anyone ever said acceptable.
Leo designed the OGs, and they have endured as beloved models.
Just as in music, every bass that came later has emerged as either a sort of an homage to or reaction against the classic firsts.
Flashier, angular, globular, asymmetrical, headless, multi-string, plain fucking weird…whatever.
Everything comes from somewhere, and somewhere is where everything starts.
Not to me, my brother.
hah, like the thread title says…
I mean at the end of the day, it’s bass. so… cool.
I absolutely agree. But if opinions are being tossed out, I’ve got one or more.
yep
I mean, as I’ve pointed out before I love bongos, sooo…
Bongo is an acquired taste when it comes to the looks buy there’s no denying once you play it, it’s one of the best feel and most comfortable MusicMan has to offer and it’s 2 octave.
I dig most Music Man bass models, @Al1885, but the taste for Bongo has quite successfully eluded me.
The bongo seems pretty normal to me. Don’t understand why people think it is so odd. Looks killer IMO.
It is what it is. Personally, I don’t classify the Bongo as odd; I just don’t care for its body shape or design details. Aesthetically, it leaves me cold. But, hey, that just means there’s one more available in the wild for anyone who wants one.
Yeah that I get. Like or dislike makes sense with it. What I don’t get are people talking about it like it is really out there design-wise; I think of it as a mildly modern but still classic MM-style bass.
