This is what it looks like (sorry for all the dust - I live near a busy street … this is what it looks like after two days):
The JR344 set is long scale. The JR324 set is short scale and that site wants 81,90 €. I’ll pass on that. Yeah, Thomann doesn’t carry the rounds.
As has been mentioned, they’re not inexpensive. But i definitely find them to be great, not just good or good enough. YMMV
Usually I prefer the sound of rounds. But the JR324 flats somehow sound different. They have all the good properties of both flat and round, hard to explain.
I agree. TI Jazz Flats are different than any other flats I’ve played. They have more brightness and character, definitely a modern string sound. However, I can still easily achieve a vintage tone with them. Very versatile.
Round core makes all the difference for stiffness, and yes that’s why the jazz flats are flexible, at least one of the reasons.
Yes and yes. that said the Jazz round is even brighter than your everyday bright rounds.
Here’s the comparison between Jazz Flats and Rounds
Also the thumbnail of this should please @MikeC quite a bit,
Oh, hells yes! Your Caprice‘s honey sunburst finish is a perfect match of my Cutlass.
By the way, my Cutlass has had TI Jazz Flats on it for the last so years.
Well played, @Al1885! Great work on that Lake Street Dive tune.
Just replaced my D’addario rounds on Ronin (double Humbucker) with JF324.
Yay - sounds phantastic!!!
I already had them on Pink’s Hot (P/H) and it sounded wonderful.
Now only one bass remaining without JF324. For not too long, I hope…
