I’m not sure if it’s related to the new player but I’ve started having issues streaming lessons today. I’m getting lots of stuttering and pausing on the Module 2 Lesson 5 workouts. I’m not having issues streaming from Youtube etc. Anyone else having issues?
edit: Now that I’ve posted here it seems to be working again. For some reason it wasn’t buffering the video. Great new player!
I love the commitment to continued improvements to a course that some of us paid for years and years ago but still get lots of use out of revisiting. Thanks BassBuzz team!
Loving the lessons. Started three days ago, I’m having a lot of issues where the video player stops buffering. I got the quality down to 720p, which helped a bit. But I have to refresh every video 3-4 times to get the buffering going. I don’t have any issues with other streaming platforms.
Update: I use Firefox as my main browser. Switching to Chrome solved the issue most of the time. Videos still stop buffering from time to time but much less so
I’m still getting lots of stuttering even though they grey bar along the bottom indicates that there is lot’s buffered.
One thing I’ll say that is that I really miss the double tap functionality - it would just skip back/forward 10 seconds, or 20 seconds if done twice, etc. Now it just toggles full screen back and forth and other crazy things.
It’s now really hard to scrub back and forth as well.
For me, this new player makes things almost unusable. Is there an option to use the old one?

Number 1 is number 1. This is HUGE. Since I’m in a pretty remote location my download speeds are fairly limited (e.g. 10mb down). While the vinyl record graphic is cool it gets a little monotonous after 30 seconds. In the player update, I found the initial quality setting was 4K . Changing this setting to 720 works great. I am aware this is a new feature since I had bandwidth issues a while back and asked support if it was possible to set and forget the quality. Not possible at that time. I just tested it several times and it works great!!! Thank you.
Number 2 - looper. Haven’t figured this out yet but I’m sure it will be useful.
The initial setting of 4K prohibited my ability to stream the video from my IPAD to my tv. Once I changed it to 1080, I could see the video instead of just hearing audio.
Thanks! Can confirm double tap works both directions, and buffering issues seem better (although i did dial it down to 1080p as well). Had to jump through some hoops to clear the cache to get the latest version, but such is life in the modern world.

Hopping on the thread as well, had to cut short training yesterday, since videos were quickly stopping buffering, had to reload multiple times the page as well to relaunch streaming, until next video crash, etc.
Using firefox on linux, didn’t lower resolution, will do eventually if that still fails on next tries.
Course is great, quite frustrating to have the video hang in the middle of smoke on the water
Early in the course, there are repeated instructions on how to set up your practice space to reduce the friction of playing the bass. I took that advice. But then B2B became the friction. If I paused a lesson and turned off my iPad, it usually didn’t play again when I returned. I would have to quit the browser and come back to the lessons page. I wrote about this a year ago and others had the same issue. Now this new player has exacerbated the problem. (I’m taking the class again.) Rather than writing a spiffy new spinning vinyl graphic I wish the developers had spent time on making sure that graphic never needs to appear. I haven’t been able to get through a sequence of lesson and 3 workouts without seeing it. I found an item on the Settings page to switch to the old player but it didn’t make anything better. And did the player always have a mute button? What value is that?
I had this problem already with the old player (video stopped buffering in the middle of the lesson). The same happens now. I’m not sure whether this is related to the connection speed. I use WiFi. Maybe this doesn’t happen with a fast ethernet connection.
What helped for me both with the old and the new video player was to choose a lower resolution. I lower the quality to 360 p and then it works. It is good enough for me on my tablet.
