I’ve seen some devices that seems very suitable to travel with. You can find’em in amazon as Jamstik guitars.
This caught my attention the other day.

The Traveler basses are small enough to fit in a suitcase, and they’re decent for practice when you’re on the go. The only thing is, be sure to check how well you can reassemble it when you get to your destination—there’s always a bit of setup required when you take the neck off and put it back on.

I’m really happy with my modded Blackstar, but this one is interesting:
It’s made in Kasachstan, incidentally one of the main countries where the father of my girlfriend does business - so he flies there on a regular basis and knows how to get best prices in those countries, so I expect half price, at least.

Hey - reviving this old-ish thread. I will be traveling for a month by car, so I don’t necessarily need a super small bass. I do have a 32” beater already, and was planning to take that and a headphone amp with me. But, then I saw this thread. I have an opportunity to get a Kala Journeyman pretty inexpensive. My concern is playing on something that small, is there an adjustment to going back to full scale bass? Probably a silly question, but I thought I would see what the Bass Buzzers have to say. Thanks

I have an acoustic that’s 24” that I use as my office and living room bass. I go back and forth between that and full scale all the time. No issues. It did take a few minutes to get used to the 24”, but it’s all good now.
