Book Club: You Read Any Good Novels or Non-fiction?

I’m currently reading the Issac Asimov Foundation series of novels. Suppose I’m just a Si-fi geek

Great books. Before getting to the fourth or fifth one make sure to read the Robot books first too. TMOT.

Caves of Steel is a favorite. If you like vintage sci fi you might want to check out some Arthur C Clarke.

if you like fantasy and Patrick O’Brian stuff, you might like His Majesty’s Dragon by Naomi Novik, which takes the Napoleonic conflict and tosses in dragons.

The Teller of Small Fortunes (Julie Leong) and Daughter of the Moon Goddess (Sue Lynn Tan) were also very good.

Right now I’m reading Almost a Miracle by John Ferling, a history of the Revolution, which is as close to politics as I will get these days

Great choice. One of my favorite books of the last 10 years. Looking forward to the flick as well!

So good. Her books are all really fun, informative reads. Bonk was good, too.

Recently reread the Sarantine Mosaic duology by Guy Gavriel Kay. It’s like… if George R.R. Martin were a good author:

Would be appreciated here, because in the end it is very much about art, craft, legacy, and why we Create.

Recently started, and am absolutely loving:

I like to alternate between something more thoughtful and literary with something more pulpy and just fun.

I have been absolutely obsessed with this dystopian series. I recently bought the 3rd one and I’m waiting for it to come

Is this the one about the Martian miner uprising. Reds against the Golds?

I read Mark Hoppus’ memoir Fahrenheit-182 last month. It was a fun and easy read if you are a fan of blink-182.

And I’ll always recommend The Very Real World of Emily Adams. It’s a darkish urban fantasy and the chapters are named after a lot of my favorite songs.

Sorry to cross the streams but that’s one of my favorite things about Cyberpunk 2077.

It was totally well done. Love that the devs made a playlist too

If it counts, I am listening to the series in audiobook form. I do a lot of road time with my job. I am on part 2 of three of Dark Age. Looking back, I see where it looks like Hunger Games, but that is only in the beginning of the saga while they are sort of in training. It goes away from that into full out battles and wars. I listen to books from Graphic Audio. They have different voice actors for different characters along with sound and music. Their moniker is “ A Movie In Your Mind”. Check out graphicaudio.net

I’m working on this series too from Graphic Audio. I’ve listened to the first one and I have the second one downloaded.

Read the first book after seeing the show and I have to admit they nailed the style and feel of the book.

I didn’t know that there was a show, we just watched the first two episodes.
