That’s a great book! I read it when it was released 25+ years ago. Fascinating. It reads like fiction. I need to track down a copy and reread it. Thanks for the reminder!

My 13 yr old son is all about tech and retro tech and such. He’s been going through books like that and Kevin Mitnik’s books, etc.
I’m currently reading Blood, Sweat, and Pixels. Really interesting book about how video games get made
He’d probably enjoy that. For a project he’s making his own online multiplayer game from scratch, including learning the programming language he wants to use, designing the character models, making the music, etc. his rule for himself is that he can’t use AI to help.

I wish it weren’t so, but all of the best lessons I’ve learned in my 74 years were learned the hard way. 
As someone who was in the “gifted” track in school as well as my son who is now…..it do be like that sometimes!
