I agree that this is the correct way to do it, but I wonder if anyone’s tried a structural epoxy like “TotalBoat High Performance Epoxy Resin”?

I wouldn’t doubt it they probably have I can guarantee you that I’m the very first person to use a 1 lb tub of gorilla Wood filler that I that I call gorilla butter cuz it looks like the same consistency consistency as butter so I using gorilla butter but like dude said I think it was hour or one of them said that once it really dries is going to crack out you know and become like powder because it’s f****** you know basically a f****** glob of mud pardon me believes that it will work but 80% of me is kicking my f****** other side’s ass or even thinking about it I agree with using f****** matching diameter dowels is the correct and proper way, but Evil Genius Creations wasn’t born on being politically correct your f****** anything like that I got tired m************ telling me that I could not use the 500 or I had to use only a 500K pot for humbuckers and a 250k pot for single coil pickups I was like show me in the f****** book where it says that I cannot do f****** wires the way I want to work I have to wire it exactly like you do I never got an answer so I formed Evil Genius creations I’ve gotten into a 9 hour conversation on Reddit Because I took a 100k potentiometer there was a cheap one too, then added a 6800 microfarad capacitor that’s electrolytic so it’s polarized to it and that was my tone pack for my generic p-bass… I was involved in a 9 hour conversation already why my 100K 100K volume pot 800k it’s own pot with a 6800 microfarad capacitor connected to it why it wouldn’t work is there telling me about it and I’m reading their s*** I’m playing my bass with the 100k vitamin tone pots in a 6800 microfarad capacitor wired up I don’t need a fire swing I can make I can make my base my four string bases sound it is low in his deep as the thick ass f****** waste of metal b string on five string bases how to make my four strings hit harder and deeper then the the b string on a five string and the only difference where the six string is they went underneath and added the f****** C string because they didn’t have a g string to put on when they went out in public That was supposed to have an appointment be a joke at the same time and I forgot what both of them was but anyway yeah they’re f****** tell him about how it went working how when you do this and you can’t you know it sound like this and you can’t do it whatever well they’re sitting there telling me this and that and f****** all the f****** negative parts of the aspect because I didn’t wire it exactly like they would talk how to wire the only way they were taught and they didn’t think the f****** think outside the box you got these different value potentiometers and capacitors what if you wanted capacitor with this potentiometer and so on that’s how I formed Evil Genius corrections is cuz I don’t give a f*** if you tell me I can’t do it I will sit here and show you unless you can show me where it’s written down or something or doing an experiment where it blows the s*** up or something that you cannot wire like that cuz there are some electrical f****** s*** you cannot wire like that I don’t know what is what but I’m learning so actually Evil Genius Creations was not formed when I got into that 9 hour conversation back in 2024 I believe it was this time of 2024 I do appreciate your and I actually really like your comment thank you that started and ended my day parkway and some you’ve been kicking my ass I ain’t been to sleep since I woke up Sunday morning I would actually been asleep a couple days ago but I had to do early in the morning and I knew once I f****** was knocked out I was not getting up and getting ready to go take care of business in the next morning you know but yeah I’m going to I stopped on it I got it the f****** tuner hole is pretty much damn f****** pill I want them completely flat you know to where there’s no difference or there’s no hills coming in and you know and then I want to figure out how I can drive a lot quicker instead of letting sit there without messing up to the integrity of the s*** you know if you drive too fast it’s going to start cracking anyway but it’s not working that’s wood filler and says have you do I believe it’s going to work I might have to do a little tweaking them with naturally believe it’s going to work anyway have a great day and I’ll talk to you later on m Schneider may I ask you first name I was just curious and Schneider out of 150 million different people got the same last name nobody has my last name which is Stroker you can find a stroker motor a race cars you know my family has my last name and I actually have seen a Kimberly stroker which was the mayor of Florissant or something a Florissant Missouri but I don’t know I’m just rambling
As I was putting it last little bit of gorilla butter on there. I believe I had an epiphany. I look down there and I was like man f*** it I’m just going to take this f****** s*** back out of here and do it like this one cuz I already knew so I really truly believe that I want to get a good dry start making the hole I want to start off small and gradually work my way up and then it’s going to be like a mud pie you don’t want to drive and just come and it’s just going to crack out and become dust and I’m going to have the holes in there again you know it’s going to be like that I know it’s going to be like that but I didn’t want to believe it don’t tell anybody that I’m going to go ahead and pull that s*** out there and put dowels in his place and go from there

Just clean it out, let it air dry, and start over. Find a way and just do it. Elmers glue would work in a pinch.

I believe that I’m done with adding filler to each tuner holes. I’m going to upload a picture of the front and back of the headstock. I was thinking about scratching it and knocking all this filler out, and getting the correct diameter dowels. Then go ahead and do it the correct right way. But, I’ve done all this work to this neck. I wanted to see it all the way through to the end. So here is a picture of the front and back of the headstock and I’ll let you know what happens here in a couple days watch it completely dries. Taking these last two pictures I still see a little bit of low spots. So I might have to add a little bit more butter. What do I do or whether I don’t have to add more butter. I’ll still be back in a couple days after it dries completely. I’m going to stick with y’all till the end on this one. Appreciate all the constructive criticism all the advice that was given and all the knowledge everyone here has about basses

I’m using Schaller m4s light tuners. I’m not exactly sure of the diameter of each tuning pegs. What size forstner bit do you have there? I may have a spade bit the same diameter I need. Which is the closest to the forstner bit. Except I only have three spade bits and no Fortuner b****
Not sure what size. It was for adding weight to my kids derby car. Pic was for referrance. The spade bits are hit or miss. On something with a finish I would be very careful. I used them daily when doing water pipe when roughing in the plumbing on new additions or new houses and in a perfect world they are not my first choice.
Have you measured the bushing/ferrule diameter to size the bit/dowel that is needed? Assuming the butter doesn’t wirk as planned.

I remember the old pinewood derby cars. I was the one that started the most unusual class. Cuz back in 87 when I was in Cub scouts. I made a tow truck. Complete with stacks, the boom, and a hook. At the end of it all I wasn’t expecting no trophies or cuz I didn’t went no races. Except I did win one trophy for most unusual. I was the only one out of my pack and every other pack and troop there was there. Who even thought about building a tow truck for the race car. There’s some it was just a flat block of wood it was like about a third of the size of the chunk of wood you get when you get your kit.
Something delicate, I’d prefer reamer than any kind of bits. If you have them on hand of course.

About 4 years ago I bought a 150 drill bit set from Walmart. It came with all bunch of screwdriver bits around the corner around the edge. (Which were the crappiest screwdriver bits. I have ever seen in my entire life!) Along with high speed drill bits wood and metal, masonry, and wood only drill bits. Three different size spade bits of 3/8 to 1/2 in. Plus a bunch of other ones. A year or two ago I bought a step drill bit set from Temu. I also but a drill press frame. I can’t use it at the moment. Because I don’t have a drill to fit in it. I need to get a corded drill. So I could find a dedicated spot to put his drill press. Having a drill press but not only step up my game but I’ll be able to drill much straighter and squarer holes. Which is the reason why I bought it. I just need to buy me a corded drill now. I also need to either build or find me a dedicated paint booth. I bought this airless thanks form Temu a few years ago. I’m extremely impressed with it. I haven’t put any paint or stain in her yet. But, it does have one hell of a blower on it. The only reason why she hadn’t had any pain or anything in her. Is because I don’t have a spray booth. Which I need to get something really soon. Cuz I hate trying to brush up all of your thing and stain. I will be able to do a much better job if I was able to spray it. After I get a bunch of practice in spraying the paint. Until I am able to acquire a spray booth. I’m just going to use her as a blower. Give you an idea on how much air she moves. I blew blew it across of my arm and it was moving my skin. I wish I could leave a video. I’ll show you but she does move a lot of hair and she came with two batteries. Both batteries last pretty long also.
It’s time to get back to work. Outside of that silvertone I’m working on I’m also trying to get my sunburst at fretless back together. Because I gave that to my brother for his birthday which was March 28th. I want to get my fretless going. On December 31st, 2023 I bought a jazz kit bass. I was working on the body started got that sanded down and stained and I decided to take her staying off of it I still got to do a lot more sanding to get the rest of it all and her neck. I bought a set of noiseless single coil pickups. I had a double jazz humbucker I bought just because. I was sitting in my room and the body was just standing up where I can see the cavities for the pickups. I kept looking at it like that neck cavity. Looks like the same size as mine double jazz humbucker. So I wasn’t glad to pick up and sure enough it’s the same exact with the cross as the ball neck cavity. The only thing I needed to do was to drill out the screw holes. So my jazz bass is going to have the double jazz humbucker in the neck position. The noiseless single coil neck pickup is going in the bridge position. The only reason why I’m doing it that way. Because it was easier to install the double jazz humbucker into the neck position then it was to install it in the bridge position. Especially since I don’t have any templates for either pickup. I looked all over the place I find templates for the jazz pickups the phone PBass pickups or any pickups around. Except for the double jazz humbucker. That one you think will be around but. I’m pretty sure be easy to make all I got to do is just get two jazz bass templates and somehow cut the screw ears off one side of each template and put it together. It was nice speaking about my other bases and my other projects. I will try to post it each one to project basses sooner or later. Now I have to solder the potentiometers and the output jack for my brother’s Sunburst fretless. That way I can at least get them in the pickguard. Then I got to figure out how bad that body is. If I had a drill and plug every screw hole for the pick guard and the bridge. But, I need to get these potentiometers and output jack soldered together. Instead of having the two volumes and one tone like most Jazz basses are. I’m doing the master volume the blend pot and master tone. Both volume and tone pots are going to be one Meg, and a MN250K blend pot. Along with a 15 microfarad tone cap. Actually yeah that’s for my brother’s fretless. This was a very first time I’ve ever used a router in my entire life. Any upper left hand corner of the pickup cavity. The router jumped on me. Which is the reason why it’s taking me so long to get it back together. Cuz I bought that bass from Temu on December 4th, 2024.

It’s doing a final sanding on the head of my silvertone. Thanks notice that were the wood filler met the tuning holes in the headstock. It was starting to separate. So I’m going to have to probably knock all that filler out and get the correct size dowels and fix it right. It was a failed experiment oh well it’s the only way to learn ain’t it trial and error right all right I appreciate all the help all the advice and all the knowledge that went through thank you for everything.
