that’s why we use studio monitors when recording
Yup
In this case you can because that’s all preamp EQ causing that scoop; flat EQ on a Fender amp will usually have a scoop like that. Raising the mids will flatten it (though not to perfectly flat).
Hahahaha, yeah!
I had to promise to do the dishes, clean the house and dance on a stripper pole for my girlfriend to allow me to put my speaker next to the sofa.
I had to choose between studio monitors and a small PA. This was my choice…
PS For recording I use headphones…
yeah studio headphones work fine too
Best bet is to use both
I have a Rumble 100, and it sounds good with my 5-string. However, the few times I’ve played out with it, I didn’t go higher than half volume on the amp, and I didn’t play any low Bs. So I don’t really know how it would sound in a performance context at high volume with notes below the low E. I could try it at home, but the neighbors probably wouldn’t like that.
I’d love to hear anyone else’s experience with this amp on 5-string who has played those low notes at high voulume.
If you have a video of the pole-dance, I’d love to see it.
LOL! I’m still figuring out how to play bass while riding the pole … for a cover video
The video will be as “sexy” as this one
I went from a vox 2+4 15 watt to a fender 100 rumble when I started loosing my fear of others hearing what I was doing. I swear that sounded so great at the time. I could have opened at Madison square garden. Then that wore off. I’m a 10 year daily noodler hoping to be bass player.
That said everything I own is a practice rig for me. It’s hard to get decent bass reproduction is smallish rooms at low volumes. But I learned about placement and the zone where I stood.
I here people love there 100 rumbles. But it was missing something to me. So I got the Ampeg 410 HLF. It sounded great in the proper placement. I believe it’s capable of removing window frames in small rooms for extended periods of time. Then I moved into senior living cause I senior. I can’t lug a 85# cabinet up down stairs every day to place in a place I’m going to flip out half the population who are in bed at 8pm promptly. So I got a Phil jones c4 and stuck it in a corner on floor it weighs 24 lbs and was shocked how good 4 5in speakers sound so good I decided to get another one plus a 2 wheeler. Then I decided to get myself a birthday gift and got the genzler 15 in bass array and it needed the matching kinetic tube head. It’s weights 35 lbs. I think. Now I put that on the 2 wheeler. I love this thing this is the sound I been looking for for the type of stuff I like to play. I have none experience playing out in a band or anything. I’m probably kinda ridiculous. The Phil jones set up was; still is awesome
That’s my speaker journey for someone who can’t play full volume and wants to really feel the sound. My next goal is to see if I can somehow run 2 or maybe 3 amp cab combinations to see what happens.
Maybe.
