I only own a short scale bass and I’ve read numerous times you can’t really slap on a short scale, so I see no need to take the slap lessons.
Go fingering first. Then slapping & Slap/Pop/Hammer. Then tapping. Then playing riffs/chords.
All techniques build up upon each other. Mastering each of them takes an excessive amount of work and YEARS of practice. Keep doing your lessons. The REAL fun starts when you learn how to slap. This is a huuuge new world to discover.
