Over the years of “playing” bass and guitar, I’ve always found that once you get over the $2k-$3k range, you are just paying for exotic parts, custom designs, exclusivity, etc. I don’t think it does much to the sound. On an electric NEW guitar. On old or acoustic guitars it will have more of an impact.

They’re quirky and not without their issues… but really cool effect! I haven’t seen anyone make a better one than the EHX Freeze.
