Danelctro Opinion Please

Can anybody comment on whether this is a re-issue or original and how these play? It’s extremely light.

Are you a nofx fan?

I am not familiar with their game.

Listen to Maneskin; Vic plays a longhorn but I’m told the sounds are the same.

I owned and played a Danelectro Longhorn in a band. It was a great sounding and playing bass.

They really do sound awesome, but I can’t get past the fact that they look like a beige uterus

it’s a me thing, they are classics.

90s punk band. Give them a listen when they’re playing live and you’ll get an idea on the sound

I am played mine in a Blues/ZZ Top band. Preceded punk by several dozen miles. Sounded legitimately badass.

It’s one of the best sounding single coils I have heard yet.

I agree. Danelectro does it right.

That is exactly like my Longhorn bass, down to the color. Damn, I wish I still owned that baby. It was righteous!

Even if I don’t really vibe with the Danelectro Longhorn, I do think this is a classic and a must have for a collector. They sound great too!

Thanks All! You talked me into it! The ask is $459. Going to see what it will actually take.

Cool bass. Good price if everything is in working order. I would love to have one.

So, I went and got it. Paid $350 Cdn plus sales tax which we know is about $260 US. It’s definitely a re-issue and so light it looks like a toy. But it has a low end better than anything I ever played and has a ton of versatility without plug-ins. Thank you all for input. Best Regards Friends!

All Danelectros are light. They have unconventional body construction: essentially, hollow-body, but minus any f-holes.
