That’s cool. Yeah knowing when not to play might be harder than throwing in the coolest most complex fill ever! Choice of staccato/legato, whole or quarter notes (or even half) fill or no fill, it all comes into how the bassist affects the song. I’m definitely a busier player by nature and have to remind myself to back off a lot.

I’m totally the same! But the good thing is that we both recognise when to back off. We’ve probably solved the hardest bit
