Its really a great pedal. It will never, or, be the last to go.
Iām looking at them on Reverb atm⦠Iām gonna end up pulling a @howard
Itās a fun one to learn.
Now I gotta figure out how to be cooler than you.
Ugh.
Iām not cool @John_E but I have learnt to genuinely not care what others think of me which makes everything so much easier ![]()
This is the way.
Same here
I had a search out of curiosity and Iāve found two of these for sale in the UK, one at Ā£875 (US$1159) and one at Ā£899 (US$1190).
Sounds about right. The bass version with the TX-L transformer usually is on the higher end.
As far as I can tell, the more expensive of the two (theyāre being sold by the same seller) comes with a box

In sure you know @PaulD but that TX version is a huge pedal compared to their newer model.
I wouldnāt recommend it. The newer version does the same thing.
Also donāt dismiss cheaper compression pedals that are as good i.e.
Iām not going to, mate. I was just curious, thatās all. Besides, itās only an extra Ā£100 to buy the amp that Iām really jonesing for.
The UA1176 is probably more than Iāll ever need and itās only Ā£149. If I did decide to go little more expensive, the never version of the Cali is change out of Ā£350.
Yeah to be honest if you gave me that Universal Audio 1176 pedal Iād be perfectly happy.
The LED lights on the others āmightā be useful and worth the extra but I couldnāt say for sure?
I had a Caline Wine Cellar turn up in the post yesterday- havenāt had a chance to test it yet tho-I was replacing the right angle jacks on most of my cables with these:
Iām pretty sure @John_E advised a compressor with LEDs would be more useful as bass players wouldnāt then be relying solely on their ears. I thought there was a reason why the newer version of the Cali76 appealed, and now I remember why.
Still going for the PJB BG-450 first though.
I should hope so as it is the definitive 1176 and the Cali is an expensive clone ![]()
I love Originās stuff but just want to throw out there that you can get a real 1176 (i.e. the actual rackmount studio limiter) for about 3x the Origin pricing.
Yes @PaulD itās giving you a visual cue but it hasnāt stopped me from finding the settings I like just by listening ![]()
Does it fit on a pedalboard?
You can hardly blame UA if your board is too girly-man to accomodate a 19ā 2U rack unit
I wasnāt refering to what you were looking at, just in general FYI. These older pedals are really a collectable thing and a mystique thing, agree with @Barney - no one needs one. I also have an Empress, love it too.
