Do you have a song you want to play but really don't think you can do it justice?

You can do it quite easily if you play it half as much as Hooky does. It takes about 1500 to 2500 times to get some parts under your finger. My gig ready songs only gets about 400-600 replays. Although some of the songs are way past 2500 practice reps. My daughter announced herself ready after a few practice run, I said go back and do it 100 more, :joy:

Disorder is one that I revisit pretty often. It’s mostly not too bad, the ending kills me. I just cannot get that slide up the E string to sound right (or good even). I wanted to do one that he recorded with his 1200S, and happens to be my favorite bass line of his. Whatever state it’s in by this weekend is how it’s going to get recorded. Kinda like last year when I did In A Lonely Place (I should try that one again).

So the bass. It feels like a 734 which… duh. I think it’s a bit lighter. It does sound different. Those pickups are so, so nice. So freakin nice. It’s a more assertive sound, but not a gnarly (in a good way) just sort of more there. It’s just more substantial. The preamp is, more. Like, switching between active / passive is a lot more noticeable. I’m doing a song that has a bit of Minotaur on it, and I had to dial that way back to get it sounding the way that I had it set for my other BB.

Also one of my favorite Floyd songs, but…there’s no reason you can’t make it yours. You and your band could take weeks/months/years trying to play it identically to the original, or you could do it your way, like Chris Cornell did with Billie Jean (just posted in the “What are you listening to” thread by @Vader ). That’s also a completely legit and respectful cover.
