Earworm alert

Just watched @JoshFossgreen’s excellent new video - 10 songs that taught me bass.

Oooh ‘Ray Charles - Hit the Road’ sounds perfect for me. I’m doing my second lap of the B2B course and have just learnt my first song ‘I’m so lonesome I could cry’ to the point where I can play along to the record/CD/wax gramophone etc

But goddammit Josh. I started learning it late last night and played for a few hours. Then bedtime and as I lay there trying to sleep all I could hear was ‘boom, boom, boom, boom’ etc the fabulous simple but catchy bass line was looping in my head. I guess I’m a bass player now and I’m very OK with that.

Found this play along video with tab great to work on the timing of the thing.

Side note - Totally worth doing a second lap of the course.

Hehe, totally recognizable. I’ve been humming “Song for my father” by Horace Silver for weeks, both during the day and when lying in bed at night. Over the past few days I’ve been working on “Comfortably numb” by Pink Floyd, and it’s the first thing that pops into my head in the morning.
