Electric shock when touching strings?

Best of luck, my friend. I hope that sorts your issue. If it doesn’t, please consider calling a qualified electrician.
Stay safe and keep thumping!

A receptacle tester is an inexpensive tool that’s handy for everyone to own. In an old house I lived in, I discovered that the receptacles in one room did not have ground wires hooked up to them. Power bars can be dangerous when ungrounded as a short in one device can cause electricity to travel along the ground to other devices plugged into it.

Musicians have been killed by shorts/ground fault in amps, tube amps can be especially dangerous due to their higher voltages.

One should never use an amp or any other device that is giving them a shock.

People used to get electrocuted by live-grounded TVs all the time.
