Forum Links Don't Embed

I’m at a loss. Sometimes they embed. Sometimes they don’t.

I know you have to put it on it’s own line but I’ve forgotten the other things to try. Any tips are appreciated.

Your bass must be in tune or it won’t work.

Remember that this forum is running on open-source forum software. It could be that the code had to be fixed or updated to start working again. The internet never stands still. I thought Josh did an update not so long ago and now the embeds seems to work again?

Good point. I’ll ask.

@JoshFossgreen Do you have any insight as to why some links embed and others don’t?

Does this have to do with Discourse?
Where the link is going?
Both?
Are there any tips for troubleshooting links that don’t embed?

I think it has to do with the site code in the embedded link.
The forum tries to generate a preview of the material in the link.
If that code is not compatible with its formatting features, you get a link instead of something pretty.

Pretty sure this is the answer @eric.kiser - it plays nice with certain popular sites like YT and Soundcloud that have slick integration setups, but not just any website will play nice.
