Just to keep everybody up to date, I said No to the band.
Longer version: I got a message saying that they had interest from multiple bass players & could I come audition next week? After some thought and a conversation with my wife, I declined. Not because I’m some fire breathing bass player who doesn’t need to audition, but because if they had other players who felt they could tackle a 50 song set list in two weeks & were willing to do a 2-night out of town gig with minimal rehearsal, well, he or she is probably a better fit. I wished them well and asked that they keep me in mind when things were a bit less hectic.
So it goes.
