Buzz when lifting off string

Hi All, Any ideas on how I can minimize the fret buzz when I lift off strings? It doesn’t happen all the time but seems to happen most frequently on the E string (and others) or when I am trying to quickly lift off and back on the fret. Example, with Billie Jean I get a lot of buzz when lifting off. Is it just a matter of technique. It happens on multiple basses so I don’t think it is a setup issue.

Best Way To Keep Strings from Clacking on the Fretboard When Playing?

I know this has probably been asked a million times before, but how do you keep the string from making noise (mainly from open E) when hitting notes along the fret board? I know I’m still relatively new, have hand issues and have s lot to learn yet about muting - but is it just a matter of getting the fretting hand strong enough to be able to lightly push down?
