GAS - Gear Acquisition Syndrome (Part 1)

For sure! I got the mini versions of the hof and flashback. Those are good too!

yeah I guess it sounds exactly the same. the mini are more pedalboard-friendly but I wanted more controls and I wanted the stereo. both choices are good here, depending on the use, IMO

unless you’re going all out on a high bux strymon or something crazy, that is the way to go. fantastic reverb.

yeah it’s some kind of high-end but reasonably priced do-it-all reverb pedal, exactly what I needed. it can really go from a subtle room or spring reverb, to an extreme shimmer, even with added modulations if wanted.

amazing how it can bring warmth and liveliness to a “flat” tone.

My MDB5 is lost in transit, but gass goes on

Nice! What’s going on with that B3K in the top right corner?

Well it’s like this. About a month ago I wandered into a GC looking to buy an octave pedal, and picked up a Poly Blue. Great pedal. While I was there I noticed a B3k hanging out in the used pedal section. It looked like a lost puppy, so I purchased it for $110, which seemed like a good deal.

But Pawn Shop laws in the area, I could not walk out the door with the B3k in case it was stolen; earliest date I could take it home was 6/2.

While I was there I picked up a Peterson clip on tuner. I take in person lessons and use a Snark there, and the rubber foot keeps falling off which is annoying. I could glue it on, but it’s cheaply made, and I don’t like cheaply made stuff so I bought a Peterson clip on.

The Peterson clip on is da bomb. It tunes low B easily, it’s just a great tuner. I have a Korg tuner pedal, but I don’t bring my pedal board to the lessons. Once I got used to Peterson’s method, I swear the clipon is more accurate than the Korg pedal, so I took it off my board.

So when I went back today to pick up the B3k, I got a Strobostomp too.

Anyone want a Korg tuner? Will be on Reverb soon.

What he meant was, that’s not a typical B3K. They look like this:

I wonder if it is an older model?

Not as savy with pedals as you guy, but you learn a bit each day. That’s a B3k V2

This is a V1 (mine says Made in USA though)

And this is the comparison

Yep that makes sense.

Well, the guitar that people kept trying to lowball and even guilt me into selling for $750 sold for the full $950. GFY people lol.

I guess I can look at some wishlists again…

Edit I’m probably going to do boring things like pay off some credit cards tbh

Edit 2 LOL another item someone messaged me about “these only sell for $X more brand new” just sold. I swear to god these people trying to guilt me into lowering prices are going to be the death of me. Reverb tells us what the things have sold for recently, I can look up the current ads, and I price it below them. Wtf people :upside_down_face:

Something is worth exactly what someone else is willing to pay for it. Fact.

I came across a few of those, people would message me and said there’s one exactly like mine for $300 less I should match that price, I replied well please go ahead and buy from them. He replied back that one is not in as good of condition and the seller reputation is questionable. Ok then!

Another made an offer for half said he’s local and would pickup that day, I said mine was the lowest price and will not last till the weekend. It was sold the next day at full price. After it was sold this guy sent me a message asking why I took it off the listing, I said it was sold 2 days ago at full price, he then asked if I shipped yet, he’d pay full price in cash no tax. I told him to take a hike. Lol.

yeah, exactly :joy: it’s a pedal for playing alone

oof. Yeah I tell myself I can’t wait to be done with the “big ticket items” but then stare at the pile of like 40 eurorack modules and then think about dealing with people like this on every. single. one. :upside_down_face:

I have a few things to sell and can’t muster the patience to deal with people just yet.
Soon….

I feel the same way. I have some stuff to unload but not in a hurry to deal with people.
