GAS - Gear Acquisition Syndrome (Part 1)

Can you create your own drum tracks and download them to the beat buddy?

Really I’d recommend a good drum VSTi. Just start it playing in your DAW ( whether recording or not). It will sound better over the monitors than through the amp anyway.

Yeah so I had the same consensus. The Drum Beats+ and Drumgenius app work well for home practice.

As a gig tool it’s very useful if you lack a drummer, but you need some experience going through the fills and parts with your foot during each song.

Can? - yes.
Would I? - hell no, I have enough to do. Lol

Good news is it was such a low price and new that I won’t lose money if I sell it. I have something else in the works that MIGHT work better or be just as meh which will determine if I keep it or not etc so not too worries about it.

Not giving up yet.

Afaik you can import/export midi files. You have to work with the Beatbuddy manager which has a bit of a learning curve.

I hooked the beat buddy to my DAI and am pumping it through my monitors. I did hook it to my amp and it sounded exactly the same. My cab is a fearless ans has a huge freq range and apparently the berg does good on the higher end too. So either sounds great actually.

Man does it. That’s one piece of work of a software package. Lol.

The other thing I like is iReal Pro cause it has chord changes. Maybe I just need to pump my iPad into my Octo-capture and pump that over the monitors.

I spent a bit of time this moring trying to sort out this Beat Buddy.
I found some workable beats for jazz.
Considering I generally use 2-4 things in Drum Genius, I think this sounds great and I just have to get used to it. I am piping it straight into my DAI over my monitors, nice and loud, needed for sax.

Yeah the beatbuddy sounds are based on real drums made by various drummers. I think they sound gorgeous compared to basic drum computers.

Glad you are liking it! It’s one of those pedals I would never sell.

@Mac is this the replacement for the one the horse broke or had you bought another one since then?

I bought a Nux BT 50 after the horse rampage @eric.kiser .
Great amp with a load of features but I always had a hankering for separate amp head and cab so last week after over a month of deliberation I opted for this set up.

Great setup and I consider a separate head and cab a very smart choice. I have been swapping heads numerous times. Show us some pics when you got it installed @Mac !

i’ve never heard of them? the amp looks really good, exactly how i like my amps built (ie no frills). :+1:

They’re made for artist guitars in China @itsratso who sell a lot of budget stuff in Australia.
I’ve bought a fair few bits and pieces from them including a buyer returned P bass which was really good.

Ordered one of these after hoping to get a better practice setup for headphone playing. It’s got a ton of effects but mostly I am hoping to use it for more traditional sounds and a clean line to my ears when quietly practicing. Of course I’ll play around with the buttons! Who wouldn’t?! It should deliver tomorrow.
