By Monday (home again) sounded more round / bottom-endy (is there such a word? ) so may requiring some break-in but so far it is OK. Need more time playing through it; will probably report back.
I try to keep GAS lower for now (at least 1-2 months before acquiring something else again)
My latest GAS is an Eventide H90 that I combine with Tonex for all my bass/guitar effects. Works also great with synthesizers. This is basically a multi-fx unit without amp/cab sims. Yep, it is kinda expensive but the (imo) superior synth quality is worth it to me.
Oooooooh! I have been eyeing something like this for a while… but the H90 is really a bit too pricey, considering that I really might not use 95% of what it has to offer
I ended up ordering a Boss LS-2 to hopefully get a better dry/wet blend than with the B1four-effect’s integrated setting … maybe not totally necessary, but it’s been a while since the last bass-related purchase
Actually I would say a blender/mixer is one of the best pedals that you can have for bass. Blending/mixing your signal with other pedals is such an overlooked aspect. It is also a great way to use guitar specific pedals and not losing your low-end.
Well guys, I finally made my first somewhat unnecessary purchase. You could call it GAS I suppose…I’ve been looking for some more fine control over my tone, so I decided to grab a couple pedals. First I went with a nice little compressor, the TC Electronic Spectracomp. I like the simplicity of the pedal and others seem to like it a lot. Second pedal is a Boss GEB-7 EQ pedal. I personally can’t stand the visual EQ’s in GarageBand and I am not particularly fond of their preset bass amps. Think I’m gonna go back to Reaper for future recordings.
Excited to try the pedals! No effects yet but I’m sure an envelope filter or chorus pedal will find their way to me eventually! GAS on!
