Sadly the wait is 7-8 months, and it’s not cheap, with the burst paint, it’s about $6500. The pickups are pretty rad for the 80s nowadays it’s just another option, lol.
I’d rather get my Yin Yang than this one. I’m also waiting for my Wyn, which was promise to be delivered late this year.
Well, it was delivered Friday about 12pm, had my wife bring it in when I called her from work at lunch at around 1pm. It sat in the box until about 4pm Saturday (worked all day) before I started playing with it. Then headed to see Wrath, BodyBox and Go Ahead and Die at a local venue. Home around midnight and another 2 hours of playing. Crashed and woke up to jam with my guitar buddy around 11am today.
I’m definitely loving it more and more. But, there are some things that could have been a bit better. I don’t care for the locking cable input, its a pain in the butt. I think the knobs could be a bit better - I don’t like the plastic covers on them and split tone adjustment on each. The hollowed body construction is different to me as well, my ESP LTD has a solid body and I can feel the vibrations of the strings - not so much with the Ibanez, so it feels weird to me. But really, I’m nitpicking at this point. Its a keeper, for many many years to come. Most expensive instrument I’ve ever purchased and probably won’t go higher than that in the foreseeable future.
I need to dial in tone a bit on my gear though, its a bit brighter sounding than my ESP LTD B205sm, especially running through the Darkglass pedals.
Yeah I made a HUGE! mistake put my hands on it the last SoCal Meetup. It’s such a fantastic instrument. Now I really want one. To be fair, all of the Fodera @booker_t brought to the party are just the next level.
Agree, it’s not the most fun thing to do tuning that bass and I have 6 string to tune, My mini with the Rivera system is so sweet it’s so smooth it’s like dialing the volume knob. Dunno how they do it. Iths through body string too.
Only issue for me right now is that the strings are the factory fitted round wounds, and I really can’t judge it with those on because I’m a 90% flat wound kind of guy. A budget set are on their way. I did try swapping the flats off my TRBX504 but the headstock is a 2x2 and I had trimmed the length. Lesson learned for the future: never trim your strings - you never know when you might want to use them elsewhere.
Oh yes. I didn’t even haggle with the seller because it was a pretty good price for the bass, and the bag must be another £60.
Welllll… I’m not in love with it just now. The strings have to be changed to flats for me to get to grips with it at all, and the neck is noticeably wider than my TRBX and Peavey, so a little adjustment is needed on my part.
Had a bit of a bonus, wound up picking up a Roland GO:Mixer Pro-X. Neat little device. I’ll add a bit more after I play with it for a while.
EDIT:
Here’s a quick video I recorded… as mentioned in the comments it was a “eff the instructions, what happens if I plug this in here” test just to see if I could make it work. I’m playing my Kiesel Osiris, active P/J, set to full P, EQ knobs centered.
