GAS - Gear Acquisition Syndrome (Part 2)

A thrice-cursed lie of the mind, @MikeC!

Interesting, my own Google searches using those specific terms - ā€œSpoke Wheel Truss Rod Nutā€ - generates the same error. Maybe StewMac is having an issue or something?

One more time again

The URL works, but the copy says itā€™s not available for purchase or backorder.

There are others around the globe, though. Hereā€™s another one:

Amazon seems to have them in lots of about ten, so they do exist somewhere.

Huh.

They have them on Amazon too. I donā€™t understand thoughā€¦ if they replace the current truss rod nut by threading on, how do they adjust the truss rod both ways without justā€¦ coming off?

StewMac has lots of happy reviews for their spoke wheel nut. You can try calling them about installation.

Today is the first time I bought a bass for the second time.

Hoping my luck is better this time.

For those of you playing along at home, feel free to guess what it will beā€¦

Itā€™s clearly a Rick.

No sir. Love my Ric but do not understand why anyone ever buys more than one.

Lost track, John, but might be a Hofner!?! (Or did you get one from Japan??)

I lost track years ago!

But my guess is Fender Vintera something

Iā€™d say the Kiss bass.

You donā€™t need luck with Aerodynes. They are blind buy.

May be a bass VI?

A short time ago, I bought a BC Rich Widow that arrived slightly damaged from Sweetwater. I immediately made contact and they said they would send me a new one in October or November and I could play the damaged one until then and return it. I never picked it up, I remained in the bag. In the mean time, I couldnā€™t get the Mantis green Bongo out of my head. They had a 6 string in Florida that I almost picked up. Then thought about the one Sweetwater had. So, I returned the Rich for a refund and bought the 6 string Mantis Green Bongo! It came yesterday!

Donā€™t pay any attention to the dog prints in the window or the sleeping orange cat!

Iā€™m wondering why it looks like youā€™re in the garden gnome version of The Purge?

Oh man now I kind of want some garden gnomes, stucco, and black spraypaint

I think you need 5 of them.

This past Sunday, I was weeding the front bed and I put the gnome on the window sill out of the way. I use kind of a flame thrower thing to weed out front. The flower beds are covered with rock, so itā€™s easy, just singe them and they wilt away by the next day (I think my neighbors are sometimes weary of me). I forgot to put him back down when I was done. My wife actually noticed it Monday morning when she opened the drapes! I decided to leave him there for a while. I used to have a Samuel Jackson, Jules from Pulp Fiction gnome but eventually the Florida sun got to him.

Thatā€™s awesome!

Love the Bongo too of course. Best bass MM ever made IMO

I love it, but thatā€™s certainly going to be an aesthetically polarizing bass :sunglasses:
