Gave up?

I just fumbled through Module 4, Lesson 5. I think it broke my brain. :face_with_spiral_eyes:

:rofl::metal:t2: Keep at it!

Oh I will. I’m gonna hold off on Billie Jean for the moment though.

Billie Jean is not that scary,
Mileage will vary- I had no problem with it

Oh yeah, there’s a couple of songs in that series I still can’t master after 3 years. Ain’t slowing me down any. Move on and play on!

Billie Jean is a tough one. Josh tells you in the video that it’s a big difficulty jump. It’s really just there so you can struggle and then mark your progress when you come back to it later. I practiced it for about 3 minutes a day while I worked on the next few modules, and it really smoothed out (I still don’t have the speed though.)

Trust me, you need to move on. The one that broke me was “Papa’s Got a Brand New Bag,” in Module 11, I think. I just couldn’t memorize the notes, which I need to do because I still death stare the neck when I play. I spent a week on that one and still couldn’t get through the slow workout, even playing the video at 50% speed. It got in my head and I stopped playing for 3 weeks.

WORST MISTAKE I’VE MADE IN THE COURSE.

DO NOT let yourself get hung up on one lesson. Just mark it as one to come back to later, and move on, because easier lessons will follow, you’ll build up your skills, and when you come back, you’ll wonder what was so difficult.
