This makes me smile. I enjoy these things so much. I remember the first time I had to make a truss rod adjustment it stressed me out so much, but now I enjoy spending time taking care of my bass, and I find this more appealing to me than going out. This picture looks so cozy, bass guitar care at midnight 
The last time I was travelling on vacations, I didn’t buy souvenirs for my frieds, but I bought for my bass (Dunlop deep conditioner).
I really should just change them. I think I accidentally but not so accidentally own 4+ sets of new strings right now.

Nice, I ended up doing the same and getting a cheapo amazon kit and doing all the setup of all my basses. It’s a very rewarding process and every bassist should know how to do! Take care of your equipment, and it will take care of you 
I used to be so good at cleaning my bass, now I’m like, “eww I need to clean that sweat off .. I’ll do it next time” 
I’ll clean my bass and verify setup before a show but that’s about it lately…
I finally got irritated enough with the slightly wobbly / rattly pickup covers on my BB434 so I added some extra foam to the back of the pickups to push them more firmly and uniformly into the pickup covers.

Another thing to check is to make sure they are adjusted correctly. I have often had basses come from the factory with the pickups at nearly maximum height.
