Getting Back Out There

No worries at all! I’d be likely for one of the hangouts but they are at a really tough hour for me.

The even I am looking for is the one in Tokyo tomorrow in Iidabashi at spacewith.

Oh! @Tokyo_Rat’s event!

Are you in Tokyo as well? Excellent

Yes I live in Tokyo.

Cool. I won’t be able to make it tomorrow myself, but yeah I didn’t see anything on their site for tomorrow either. They are having the landlady’s birthday party tonight though

I will see if i get more info i will otherwise it will be another time.

Ah a bit late for tonight haha. I guess the next one is on the 28th! 4/28ƒZƒbƒVƒ‡ƒ“

That schedule is not the entire event space schedule, it’s a recurring session the site mentions and it happens to be on tonight. The place is open the rest of the week too

Maybe because my Japanese is still not so good, I don’t understand everything on the website.
I see something some Thursday too but not sure about the other days.

Is there band playing everyday?

The event space rents out every night but they don’t have a schedule posted since last year.

The rockin-tonight thing is a specific weekly event in the space, usually on Thursdays, that happens to have one tonight.

I see so i would have to show up to know what there is.

it can be random, as I see anyone can rent the room for their gig.

That sounds interesting I will go and have a look at some point.

Is there any other place like that to check in Tokyo?

Oh yeah. Event spaces are all over the place. There’s also practice spaces you can rent in many neighborhoods. It’s been a long time since I have gone to a live show -years at this point - so I am not super familiar with them these days, but I know there are tons.

I will have to dig deeper spacewith might be a good start!

You mentioned you are about 40 minutes from Iidabashi. I am as well, on the west side. If you happen to live around the west side of the Yamanote ring, good places to look would be around Shibuya, Shinjuku, Shimokitazawa, and the area around Kichijoji. East side I am less sure, but maybe around Ueno/Kanda and the usual areas like Akihabara. Probably tons of event spaces with bands.

I am in Kitasenju, all those places are not so far.
What I know a little around there is more shibuya (hanzomon line), ebisu, nakameguro (hibiya line).

Lots of cool stuff around Nakameguro; I lived there for years. Cool area. Ebisu has some event spaces but not sure how many rent out to bands; I know some are used for DJ parties so I assume there are a few.

Probably some up around Kita-Senju too; try searching for “ライブハウス”; small live music venues typically go by that.

Yes Nakameguro is a cool area.

Thanks for the word in Japanese I will have a look at it!

Team, our event has come and gone I was sick and laid up in the bed on Friday and Saturday but still on Sunday got on the train and did the hour and change ride to do the show. Crowd was great, the other bands were amazing, we had a few miscues but I’d give it a solid 8.5.
