I like seeing these play/jam lists.

Here is ours for next jam.

It was going to be last weekend, but our drummer was sick, so we are hoping to play again before Xmas. Everyone one is very busy right now.

Please share your lists.

I really want to add some Radio Birdman but we only have one guitar. I’d like some Sex Pistols but the guitar player refuses

We struggled for a year with that until I bit the bullet and went digital mixer and IEMs. Still getting used to it. But out feedback issues with monitors / amps have gone away.

I brought that up as an option. It might be the way to go. Not exactly cheap, but if we split it 3 or 4 ways, becomes a lot easier.

It’s a big expense when we haven’t even had a first gig yet though.

Me too!!

I just finished another year of turkeymeggadon… I (thankfully) toned it down this year; last year I smoked 10+ turkeys. It was fun. at first. Still, I love doing this.

This year, it was only three, a couple for my neighbors and one for my 98 year old Mum in law. You can’t ask for more than that.

It was a quiet get together, we are meeting again for her birthday on December 13th. She is one tough Woman. Funny as hell too. She wants a smoked ham for her birthday. I’ve never done one, but when the Lady wants a ham…

In other news, I have been talking with a friend that I used to work with at Gruhn Guitars in the early 2000’s. He was in sales and I loved his whole attiude towards life in general. We parted ways when he moved to Arizona, but I follow him on facebook and he has been busy working on promoting his singing and songwriting. I found out last week that he had moved back to Nashville to pursue music.

We messaged each other, then talked about jamming, I got home from Kentucky and he texted me: Elm Hill Tavern, Sunday 3pm.

I’ve played there before, but never in an open jam situation, Fortunately. the guy that I have been playing with this year has helped me with playing whatever.

This is so unlike what I have done in the past, but I’m going for it.

I ought to literally call it a good bass week:

Tuesday: picked up a new bass (a used one, but new for me) locally. I found it via kleinanzeigen which is the German craigslist.

Wednesday: rehearsed with a band, that was looking for a bassist in the first place, then wanted me as a singer, but now wants me to play bass AND sing.

Friday: my boyfriend gave me a complete Harley Benton beginner’s bass set as a belated birthday gift, including a 5-string, amp, strap, cables, and I think there is also some course or tabs or something in Emails.

Summary: I went from one bass to three and from no band to band in four days. My head is trying to keep up

Fantastic news.

Luckily for me nobody want to hear me sing in our band (I’m pretty bad), so i concentrate on the bass stuff.

Congratulations.

Great idea I think. So today I had a good bass day, and just want to tell somebody, lol. Finished the course, been concentrating on master classes, full songs and ear training. Ever since I started paying more heed to some of the little suggestions, like the” how to make your practice time count” and not the “being afraid to make mistakes” videos, my progress has really picked up. I find those two videos gave me ideas on how to balance my attitude and approach. Today I did the three full songs in the master class, was able to play along fairly easily, wasn’t a struggle, but a lot of fun. Could really focus on drums and rythm, was near faultless, other than a few missed muting moments or shortened notes, sacrificed for rythm’s sake. followed up with the slap bass video and was able to perform the full workout and sounded not bad at all, again was fun, not a struggle, a few muting issues and missed timing here and there to keep over all rythm in check, and one or 2 dead notes as thumb was either to rigid or to relaxed and landed back on string. Truthfully, my confidence was very low when I started and really didn’t believe I would get to the level I’m currently at. My goal was to become proficient enough as a bed room player to really enjoy it. Success is addictive though, and I wanted more every time I took a new lesson. Now I would actually like to join a band. Thank you Josh and to everyone behind the B2B course, I am loving it.
