Yes. Tons of SG and SGV available here.
I wish I liked them. Everything is great except I do not like their tone all that much - mainly because I am not so in to surf rock. These things are the ultimate Surf sound, way more than something like a Jazzmaster IMO.
Oh wait holy crap - Eastwood is MAKING them now???
Ahahaha thats awesome. Hopefully they will do SB’s too ![]()
Thanks for finding this!
Don’t discount Aliexpress guitars,
I have 2 Ali Teles and I cannot fault them.
I would put them against any Fender or Squire in a music shop-there are pics of them both in the Project Bass thread.
I had a Donner Tele and it was good too, I sold it to a mate to buy a different guitar I wanted but he loves it.
Artist Guitars in Australia have a very good range, free shipping in Australia.
I have an SG and 335 clone from them (both of which I would put up against at least an Epiphone).
I know they do ship overseas buy you will have to pay for it.
Artist are very good and punch above their cost.
I’ve just had a quick butcher’s on Thomann, and Yamaha Pacificas are surprisingly affordable.
I’m beginning to wonder if I should buy a gee-taaar now?

I think it’s nice to have options. Also get drums, keyboard/synth, heh…
Nah. If I branched out, it would only be a guitar.
Lots of options in the UK @PaulD for inexpensive guitars.
Andertons own in house brand Eastcoast starts at 100 quid. Nuts.
You don’t need an expensive guitar to suck at it ![]()
I’d actually go to my local dealer as he keeps lefty guitars in stock. Selection isn’t too bad considering it’s a small family owned/run business
I’d probably go for the Squier Strat.
I can tell you here and now that I’ll suck at it and that didn’t cost me a penny ![]()
I know there are a few forum uses here that have a Sire bass and like them including me. Has anyone tried their 6 string guitars though?
interested in your opinions on ‘one that got away’. saw it on facebook locally, messaged the bloke and was going to go have a look this week, but it sold yesterday.
ive been looking for yamaha pacifica’s on your advice here, but couldnt resist digging deeper into this as i loved the pink colour. i would have asked advice on here first though ![]()
so……
the bumph states….”This beauty has been modded /was a squire body and neck ,the pickups are upgraded to Hot Rail Humbuckers [4 wired] so split is possible ~ Fantastic sound !.. this has excellent action ,low for easy playability ,all electrics are superb with zero issues new strings”
it was £160. should i have raced round and bought it as it was too good a bargain? have a missed out? or would i be better off still looking at yamahas ![]()
Seems like a pretty average deal tbh. A used squier isn’t going to be worth a lot no matter how much it is modded.
Important lesson there: modding doesn’t increase value on the used market.
Caught myself looking at Pacificas the other day, surprisingly affordable.
I might look in the local shop sometime.
Not the bottom shelf ones, maybe the second-tier ones…
Now if I could just play guitar well.
Easier to get better at playing if you have one to play…..
If only it was that simple.
My old granny used to say that only thing that increases in value when modded is a Hardly Dangerous, sorry, Harley Davidson. Even then, it has to be done with official HD parts.
Even more, only when done as an official package offered by HD. Like the “Screaming Eagle” package.
Well there are some exception to the rule,
I have a pretty valuable Squier mods that would sell more than a Current Fender offering.
Like this MIJ Nitro/ Poly hybrid beauty. Currently, I put a flatwound set on it, and it sounds pretty awesome, especially with the David Gilmore EMG set.
I like the CustomShop version of that too, ![]()
