I was worried I had a fault in my active bass

I feel your pain. I had to send my Warwick RB Corvette for repairs due to faulty electronics.

Over the last two months, the sound has been almost silent and very distorted.

Initially, I thought it was because of the batteries. The ones that came with the bass lasted almost four months. Then, things went downhill. I used Duracell, VARTA, Energizer Heavy Duty batteries. However, they only last for up to two weeks.

I measured the current consumed by the electronics during play, which was 0.6 mA. When it was unplugged, the current was 0.02 mA (strange). The bass became unplayable in the last few weeks. There was almost no sound. It was distorted to an extreme degree.

So now I am waiting for the repair

I had to do the same with a RB Streamer LX5 too. In my case it was a frequent short in the electronics compartment.
